Martin Armbrust, one of the museum’s current Danish interns, will present the Danish experience of World War II under Nazi occupation.
Thursday, August 17. Art and Immigration. Anni Holm is a Danish immigrant artist living in West Chicago, Illinois. She will be in residence at the museum this week, completing an art installation in the museum’s galleries. Her residency is supported in part by a grant from the Iowa Arts Council.
Thursday, September 14. Wiinblad and Danish Modern. Curator Tova Brandt organized the museum’s exhibitions about Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad and about Danish Modern furniture design, and has been pondering how the two subjects fit together. Do they? Come hear her take on it all.
Thursday, October 19. You Can't Take it With You. Paul Johnson is a CFP® professional under contract with the museum to assist its donors with planned giving. He will explain some of the mysteries behind different ways that we can support the causes and institutions we care about.
Thursday, November 16. Iowa in WWI. In this centennial year of America’s entrance into WWI, Leo Landis, curator for the State Historical Museum, looks at the experience of Iowans during the war.
